Well the PFT crew had a great Christmas break!
We started the festivities with our annual Christmas Party on December 7. Everyone had a wonderful time and the 2013 awards were handed out. Most Sportsmanlike was awarded to Noelle Frye, Rookie of the Year was awarded to Feist (Holly Kirkpatrick), Most Improved was Maya (Dave Matheson) and MVP was awarded to Callie (Dave Matheson).

Just one week later, Tara & Marc Cote welcomed their first child and our newest Jr. Handler! Vincent Frederick was born on December 14 weighing in at a healthy 8lbs 6 ounces. Mama, Daddy, Leah & Izzy are all settling in well with baby Vinny and the whole flyball crew will get to meet him for the first time this weekend! We will be growing even more in 2014, when Joe and Corbie welcome their second child :)

Tara was not the only one to welcome a new baby, Brooke gave birth to 2 sweet baby Tollers on December 23rd, in the middle of a terrible ice storm.
One boy – Emmett and one girl – Eve. The E litter babies are doing great as is Mama Brooke.

We were also so very proud of Sonya & Pongo, who were awarded the River Valley Obedience Club's Sarah Neily Award for hospital visitation team of the year!
Throughout the holiday season we has some birthday's as well. Brooke turned 4 on November 30, I celebrated my 31st birthday on December 18, shoot, I guess that means I am officially "in my 30's"! Willie the wonder pug celebrated his 8th birthday on December 23 and Slice turned 3 on December 28! Gotta love December babies!
Some members have been practicing right through December, when Mother Nature would allow! Others decided to take a break for the past month – but that break is now over! Practice is back to normal and we will hold our Annual AGM next Sunday, January 12. This is an election year, so a new Board of Directors and new Chairs will be voted in. We have lots to discuss at the AGM including exciting changes to our June tournament! Stay tuned ;)
We hope that everyone had a great holiday and we wish you all the best for 2014. Only 91 more days until we hit the mats in Truro!
Until Next Time!
