The Kids Strut Their Stuff on Home Turf!

Well this past weekend at our home tournament we had some amazing racing!  It was the first time that we were entering 2 teams in Division 1 and the kids came to play!  Pilot Project was in the first race of the day and they were flawless and posted some great times!  Aviators were up next and the very first heat they broke the Regional Record and ran a 16.29 with plenty of room!  Line-up consisted of: Spray (Sam), Callie (Dave), Zedd (Andrea) & Feist (Holly).
The rest of the day went very smooth with all of the teams racing extremely well.  Aviators hit some great times, but they were not in the win column a lot, thankfully Pilot Project was!  I think everyone’s favourite race of the day was when Pilot Project faced Aviators. Both teams did amazing and Pilot Project hit a personal best time of 16.33 and Aviators hit another 16.29!  Saturday finished with Pilot Project 1st and Aviators 4th in Division 1, Aerodynamic took
6th in a very competitive Division 2 and Red Eye came in 2nd in Open 1.

On Sunday, Aviators did better, they went undefeated and raced their fastest the very last heat of the day with a
16.33.  Pilot Project did excellent as well taking 3rd place in Division 1.  Once again Aerodynamic placed 6th
in Division 2 and Red Eye placed 4th in Open 1.

Obviously racing 2 Division 1 teams for the first time and breaking the regional record were highlights from this past weekend, but there were plenty of others!  We had 5 dogs achieve new titles! Maya (Dave) – FDX, Charlie (Joe) – FDCh – S, Flight (Stef) – FDCh – S, Carlie (Noelle) – FM & Eryx (Sam) – 40,000 – the first Giant Schnauzer in
NAFA to reach this title!  We also had a couple of dogs race new personal best times!

Special mention to Noelle & Stef who raced their first time on a Division 1 team and did awesome! Also to Amanda and Slice, who ran flawless all weekend and looked great on the lanes!

I would also like to congratulate FAME, Push Play and Flyball Maine-iacs for their new personal best times set this weekend.   Apparently the Junction is the place to run fast!

Up next for our team is the Charlottetown tournament: June 29 & 30th.  We love this tournament!  It is always a great
time.  Looking forward to another weekend of great racing!

Until next time!

I Fly, U-Fli, We All Fly, Eh?

Hello Everyone!
Well, here we sit, 48 hours before...TAKEOFF! But I would be remiss if I did not give you a recap of Daniel & I's adventure to our first U-Fli tournament in Richmond, ON last weekend.

The trip down was actually less horrible than I thought it would be, I am not a morning person and the thought of getting up at 5am had me cringing, however, the drive went by quite quick and we arrived at our destination a little after 3pm, Ontario time.  After we unloaded our first stop was to reunite with our friend Lori!  We had not seen her since December, so we were excited to catch-up.

After a short visit, we were off to the facility, to set-up, or so we thought!  Apparently in Ontario, they crate out of their cars and not in the facility, opps!  Didn't know that, and we certainly did not pack for that either!  Oh well, live and learn.  So since there was no set-up back to the hotel we went.  Later that night, I got a chance to catch up with our friend Connie Croley and meet some of her Rude Dogs teammates.  I could tell this weekend was going to be fun!

Early the next day we were off to take part in our first U-Fli tournament!  Saturday was AMAZING!  We walked away with 2 first place finishes and 1 second place.  The highlight of the day was when Brooke broke the U-Fli singles record for a Toller.  She ran a 3.885 heat to break it originally and then ran a 3.836, which now stands as the fastest official time!  We were so happy with all of the dogs.  They had to run with new dogs, on a new box and in the extreme heat, all while crating outdoors, which they are not use to.  Long story short - they were flawless and we were so proud of them!

Sunday gave us another challenge as the rain decided to make an appearance, we are so thankful to Heather from Paws on Fire for her tarp and our Rude Dogs friends for helping us take cover from the weather.  On Sunday we did not place, but we still had lots of fun.  We walked away from the weekend with a lot of ribbons and the dogs got 2-3 titles each!   Paws on Fire put on a great tournament and we are so thankful to Connie for allowing us to run with her team at this tournament, we were so happy that we made the trip!

After racing it was time to hit the long road home, it was sad to have to say goodbye to Lori again, but we promised to try and find another tournament to meet up at again soon.

Now that that tournament is complete, we are fully focusing on our home tournament this weekend!  If you are by the Tri-County Complex on Saturday or Sunday, feel free to stop by and see some amazing flyball teams from the Maritimes and Eastern US compete!

I will be posting the results on our Facebook Page, Twitter account and of course on this blog.

Until Next Time!
