We had a great time at OMG’s tournament this past weekend. Gotta love having a tournament close to home where you can sleep in your own bed and you are home after the tournament finishes by 5pm.
Both of our teams did extremely well. Aviators went undefeated in Regular 1, taking 1st place both days. Red Eye took 2nd on Saturday in Open 1 and there was a 4 way tie for 1st on Sunday, so it came down to best time of day and we ended up 4th. Raine got a little banged up on Sunday, so Trout and Feist took over and raced in her remaining 3 races. Just goes to show why you always list a 6th dog, you never know when an injury will happen! Awesome job to everyone on that team who had to adjust when that happened. Raine seems fine today, but we will be giving her a little time off to make sure she is ready for the next tournament.
Thank you to Donna & Sam for running on our Open team with us and while our team did not have any new titles this tournament; Sam earned his 40K title! Way to go little guy!
Special shout-out to our Jr. Handlers: Kyle, Elizabeth and Braxton. Kyle ball shagged every race, Elizabeth helped to look after Corbin and Braxton helped me race Raine on Saturday and helped ball shag as well. The #nextgen of PFT is looking pretty good! Also on a personal note, thank you to everyone who helped look after Corbin while I was racing. I appreciate all of the help and could not have raced otherwise. Our Region 10 friends rock!
Many thanks to “Team Manager” Karen for keeping us all in check, don’t worry, I promise that our passes will be better at the next tournament!
Up next, we will be hitting the lanes in Cornwall, PEI on June 27 & 28.
I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the incredible loss that the flyball community suffered this past weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with Toby Emo’s family and friends, including our friends on FNF. RIP Toby, you will be missed dearly.
Until Next Time,
~Holly~
