Well it is almost a week since we came home from Cornwall, PEI and I think I am still cold! LOL, all joking aside, FNF did a wonderful job hosting this annual May tournament and we all know they cannot control the weather!
As always, PFT goes into each weekend with team goals. This weekend, we had many. The awesome times we were seeing in practice for our A team, had our hopes very high, we had some "green" dogs getting ready to take to the mats for the first time and we had some "new" dogs who were about to see how far they could be pushed.
Saturday we had our share of issues, but we still managed to pull out with a 2nd place in Division 1 (Aviators), a 1st place in Division 2 (Aerodynamic), 1st place in Open 1 (Red Eye) and a 3rd in Division 3 (Direct Flight - this was based on best time of day because it was a three way tie!). Flight also earned her FDCh title. So over all a very successful day.
Sunday we decided to shake things up a bit and give some rookie dogs a chance to prove themselves, I am happy to say they did just that! Once again, Aviators took 2nd in Division 1, Aerodynamic took 1st in Division 2, Red Eye took 1st in Open 1 and Direct Flight racked up some nice points! Even more titles were earned including: Maya: FD, Feist: FDCh-S, Raine: 40,000 (the first one in PFT history!) and Eryx also became the #1 Giant Schnauzer in NAFA!
Talk about a successful weekend! Even though we did not meet all of our team goals for the weekend, it was still a fabulous one! But you do need to have something to strive for...maybe we will be able to reach that goal on home turf in a couple of weeks!
For most of the team they are off until our home tournament (June 8 & 9), but Daniel and I will be travelling with Brooke, Raine, Rev & Feist to Richmond, ON next weekend to compete in our first UFli tournament and we also get to race with Lori! Should be a blast!
Until next time!
