Wins, and Losses, and Titles...Oh My!

This blog post will be about the first two tournaments of the 2015 racing season.  Apologies for not writing sooner, between hosting a tournament, attending another and preparing for our annual online auction - it has been a busy April!

April 4 & 5 we hosted our home tournament, the first of the 2015 racing season.  The "PFT Easter Bunny Hop" was a great success.  It was a small tournament, but it was also a lot of fun.  Huge thank you to our amazing judges Cy & Carl who not only judged, but also raced their dogs, to Sonya's students who helped both days, to Karen - Queen of the Head Table, to all of our Region 10 friends who jumped in and filled a seat when needed and all of the other volunteers.  Special mention to Daniel, who drove all the way from Grand Falls to help on Saturday!  We appreciate the help.

Our teams faired well that weekend.  Aviators took first both days in Regular 1 and Red Eye took first both days in Open 1.  Special mention to Pongo who earned his FMCh (15,000) title!

We introduced a new award at our tournament, the "Dog of the Day" award.  Congratulations to SHE-RA from Paws on Deck who won on Saturday and to Spray from On My Go! who earned the award on Sunday.

Next year our tournament will be held April 9 & 10 and it will be back in the Capital City of Fredericton at the Fredericton Coliseum!

This past weekend we attended FAME's annual April tournament.  Our teams did well despite some challenges.  I am so proud that we pulled together and with a total team effort, Aviators took 2nd on Saturday and 1st on Sunday in Regular 1.  Red Eye took 2nd both days in Open 1.  Congratulations to Maya who earned her FMX (10,000) title!  It was also nice that Dave received Callie's FMCh pin and I received Raine's 50,000 plate.  She needs less than 300 points to reach #4 Toller in NAFA, this should happen next tournament!

Huge thank you to Cheryl who box loaded for Aviators all weekend and to Christine for running Kynkk with us.  We will miss Christine as she takes the next few tournaments off to prepare for the arrival of her little girl in June.  We can't wait to hear the news and meet her :)

Up next for us is FNF's tournament being held May 16 & 17 at the Charlottetown Civic Centre!  If you are going to be in the area, feel free to stop by and say "HI"!

Until Next Time!
