If there ever was a dog that was fated to be with Holly & Daniel, Fitz is it. Holly contacted Connie Skalski (Feist’s breeder) about a Border/Whippet litter for Sonya. It was perfect timing, as Connie was getting ready to breed her border collie Amp to Louise Hoelscher’s (Poeta) whippet Trumpet. Amp has always been one of Holly & Daniels favourite border collie’s and Trumpet is well known in the dog sport world for having amazing puppies. After hearing about this breeding they had to put their name on the list as well.
When the pups were ready to be picked up, Holly flew to South Carolina to pick the puppy she thought she wanted. Well Fitz had something to say about that! From the time Holly met all of the puppies, Fitz was constantly in her face. When Holly went into the x-pen to make her final decision and called “here puppy, puppy”, Fitz ran from one end of the x-pen to the other and jumped in her arms. That was that, Fitz had made her choice! Fitz made her debut in October 2017 and rocked it! She earned her FD, FDX and FDCH at that tournament. Fast forward to our home tournament April 2018. She made her debut on our Aviators team and has been helping break records since! The latest was our new club PB of 15.336 set on September 15, 2018. She is also part of the Region 10 Regular Championship team for the 2017-2018 season. Not bad for her first year of flyball! At home, Fitz is Holly’s shadow and Feist’s BFF. |
